What to wear for a Job Interview

What to wear… for a Job interview

My loves,

job interviews are probably one of the most difficult and exciting conversations ever. The candidate wants to promote her/hisself in the best way and states clear why he or she is the right one for the job. The companies on the other side have to find a qualified employee to set at the right place at the right time.

Pooh, not a simple task at all. For both sides. A comfortable and well-suited wardrobe is a first step into the right direction and contributes to define an overall picture and the famous “first impression”. There are some basic rules which everyone should consider: never ever go to a job interview with dirty shoes. A No-Go! The same is with dirty or nibbled nails! No way! Never! Clean shoes and nails are a must. They are obviously a sign of respect and seriousness. Washed and fresh hair is also a good thing, you should simply make a great and sophisticated impression.

Please believe me, HR Specialists always recognize if you don’t take care of yourself and this is a thing which draws conclusion to your personality. So we have just clarified the body care thing but I think that most of you are into it anyway. But I have seen a lot in my daily business, believe me!

Your wardrobe should be simple for the big day unless you are applying for a creative job in a creative scene. Here you can easily show your know-how and the newest trends. But for the most conservative industries I recommend to take muted colours such as Nude, Beige, Brown, White, Black, Navyblue or Grey.

Always great: nude nail polish, black simple heels, a pinned-up hairdo or a ponytail

It is not necessary that you wear a white blouse or a suit. A pretty turtleneck sweater and black pants are also good. Another option is a classic pencil skirt. But most important: you have to feel comfortable. There is nothing worse if something is scratching or sliding and you just jump around on your chair. This is really unprofessional and you are not able to focus yourself on the interview.

If you have enough trust you can also wear red lipstick. Times are changing and if you keep the rest of the make-up simple it is a great sign of self-confidence, sovereignty and strength. But you can also wear simple nude. This is always a safe option.

Make sure that your garments are of good quality. A polyester suit is not a great idea. You can easily wear classic quality pieces every day and integrate them into your daily looks.

I have combined 3 looks underneath you could perfectly wear for a job interview. And always keep in mind: your wardrobe is half of the job. In addition wear a positive mind and a straight self-confidence attitude and you nearly won the game!

My last proposal is a pencil skirt. These skirts are always elegant and allround-talents. You can style them in so many different ways. Particularly beautiful in combination with a soft cashmere sweater and simple black heels.
