Cortiina Hotel│Munich

Travel Review – Hotel Cortiina

Hi my loves,

I hope you had a great weekend even though there was a little onset of winter the last days. During the Munich Press Days we had the opportunity to sleep in the gorgeous Cortiina Hotel directly located in the middle of Munich. The location is really not to beat, right next to the famous Viktualienmarkt and Marienplatz and all other touristic hotspots.

The hotel

There are of course a lot of big hotel chains with amazing hotels but my heart always melts away whenever I see unique little Design or Boutique hotels. Not even because everything is more personal but even more because it is all about the little details. It is exactly the samewith the Cortiina. A desgin hotel with charme, style and class on a cosmopolitan level.

This is something you just notice when you enter the hotel. Only to mention the excellent service and the exceptional interior. You can feel the vibe of a vibrant big city with Italian glamour and retro inspired elements. The furnishings are stylish and made of  natural materials such as bog oak, Jura-Natural stone and curtains made of linen. A “Casual-Chic” atmosphere to slow down a little bit. Not for nothing the Cortiina has been elected by the German Vogue magazine as “Hotel of the month”.

The room

We were lucky to get a huge suite with a private entrance, so what should I say? There were just nothing left to be desired. I immediately felt in love with the clean retro-inspired design and midcentury elements. In addition there was this big open bathroom with an amazing bathtube in the middle of the room. Not to beat.

Some fresh flowers and mattresses made of natural rubber did their job to make us feel completeley comfortable and to fall asleep at once after returning from the hotel-owned wine bar.

The food

One of the highlights was defintely the dinner in the hotel-owned “GRAPES” wine bar. Such an amazing experience from the beginning. The bar just opened in December last year and it easily became now one of the “places to be” in Munich. A modern wine culture in the Bavarian capital and even my husband who is also a huge wine lover and the more critical part of us (I mean it is really not easy to impress him) was blown away by the first sip of those magical wines. Not for nothing the bar brings together one of the best international winemakers and sommeliers for some tastings together with the guests.

Every day at 5:30 pm the bar opens with a „Bubble-Up“, a modern way of Aperitivo with winemakers champagne and some delicious treats. It is just a perfect place for yummy food with probably the best wines in Munich!

And I can also recommend the breakfast which is also served in the GRAPES bar in the morning. A plesure for all senses!

What to do

Certainly everyhting. The hotel is located right in the heart of Munichs city center so you can easily reach a lot by foot. If you decide to go for a walk to the Viktualienmarkt after breakfast or a bigger shopping tour or even visiting the opera in the evening, it is all possible and only a stone’s throw.

Just the place to be in Munich!

Have a great rest of this sunday,

Monique xx

Wow, das ist wirklich eine Mid Century Perle und das mitten in meistens rustikalem München :). Stylisch und so ungezwungene 70ties – einfach klasse – werde ich sicherlich bald ansteuern. LG Tomasino
