Hotel Bachmair Weissach

Travel Review – Bachmair Weissach

Hi my loves,

if you follow me on Instagram you have already seen that we went on a little winter trip together with Jaguar last December. Our first stop was the very romantic Lake Tegernsee, down in the South of Bavaria, Germany. We stayed at the super stylish and charming Bachmair Weissach Hotel. One of my highlights was definitely the new Mizu Onsen SPA.

But let’s start at the beginning.

The Hotel

A mix between tradition and modern art paired with some rustic charme and a lot of Bavarian warmth. Yes, this is exactly how I would describe the hotel and its atmosphere.

You can find this special comfort in the whole complex. A huge chandelier is the best welcome as well as a very stylish fireplace. If you want it is the best photo motif.

The hotel itself is separated into different parts and complexes. You can find the hotel rooms in different houses like Ferdinand, Benedikt or Marlies Quirlen. The restaurants are located in the main building or right next to it like the “Gasthof zur Weissach” and the super pretty new Mizu Onsen SPA.

The rooms

All of the rooms are super cozy with high-quality furnishings. Also you will find some traditional Bavarian elements as well as some Midcentury and Bauhaus chic. From the very Frist beginning I felt very comfortable, home away from home. All rooms are spacious with an own terrace. We were also very lucky because we stayed in a very pretty Classic Suite. For this reason we could also use a little living room area as well as a desk for my work.

The breakfast

Beside the Mizu Onsen SPA I was totally in all these culinary highlights. One of them was definitely the breakfast. Even though I am not a morning person and breakfast is not a favorite part of my day I was obsessed with all these delicacies. We are trying to live vegan but mostly vegetarian but for those who are really vegan there are so many different options. You can have a vegan protein omelett or a super healthy fruit and vegetable juice with ginger and chili. Just how you like it! And for all of those who do not live vegetarian or vegan: there a lot of options as well! So yummy.

The Mizu Onsen SPA

The new openend and renovated Mizu Onsen SPA was definitely one of my highlights during our stay. I needed a vacation so bad and I found everything what I need to take some time off there.

It is a brand new Japanese concept, it is not only about swimming pools and saunas, it is even more a whole concept which mainly consists of the 4 important things: Slowness, Contemplation, Clarity and Warmth. It is based on different temperature and moisture steps.

You will find a very big area with over 3.000 qm. The perfect place to switch your smartphone off. Even if it is just for some minutes. They are also offering a very large range of SPA treatments. After that you are completely relaxed and ready for all upcoming projects.

You can also find some beautiful pictures in my latest blogpost about my Clarins Skincare.

The restaurants – The food

We can continue with the food immediately. It was heaven on earth! There are three different themed restaurants in total: “Gasthof zur Weissach”, “die Kreuther Fondue Stuben” and the Japanese “Mizu Sushi Bar.”

On our first evening we went to the Bavarian guesthouse which is also the favourite pub of the locals. There you will find traditional meals with a modern twist. And they promptly served one of my fave dishes ever: Truffle risotto! A dream, just a dream!

We experienced the same with the cozy “Kreuther Fondue Stuben”. Here we found a traditional Swiss cheese fondue with a lot of truffles as well. Hell, I was definitely in food heaven there! Such a big taste experience.

Last but not least we visited the very stylish and urban “Mizu Sushi Bar”. Here you will also find vegetarian and vegan Sushi variations. I was deeply in love with the furnishing. So cool! Foodies will be in heaven whenever they visit the Bachmair Weissach Hotel!

The surroundings

Where should I begin? Well, the Lake Tegernsee and everything around is simply stunning and beautiful. There is so much to discover and to do. If you are a fan of any kind of winter sports it is definitely the right place for you. The little village Rottach-Egern is so magical and friendly. We were also lucky enough to see everything in a Winter Wonderland atmosphere, so it was the perfect Pre-Christmas getaway.

Beside winter sports you can of course just take a walk around the lake or do some shopping. You can also visit the own mountain. It is called “Wallberg”. There on the top of the rock you will also find another restaurant of Bachmair Weissach. So nice! And if the weather is nice you will have one of the most amazing views ever. If you are lucky you can even see Munich from there.

And if you like you can take a slide and sledge down on one the longest sledging tracks in Germany. So much fun!

Conclusion

It was such a fabulous stay and we had a los of fun! If you ever consider to visit the Lake Tegernsee I can only recommend this gorgeous place!

Things I liked most:

  • the new Mizu Onsen SPA
  • the food, it was perfect because there is something for everybody and everybody’s needs as well.

Things I didn’t like:

  • unfortunately the SPA area is closing at 8 pm. But this is a point everybody can get over very soon 😉

I hope you liked my review and I wish you a wonderful rest of the week lovelies,

Monique xx
