The Mackintosh aka Trenchcoat

Hi my loves,

as soon as the temperatures are rising I get out my trench coat. Or as we say today “Mackintosh” because it sounds even cooler and we also immediately think about Sherlock Homes and the British Empire. However you will call it, the light beige coat is a styling wonder and it definitely helped me out of every styling crisis I had.

Even when it comes to putting together some comfortable but also chic clothes for any kind of journeys I can only recommend a trench coat! It is the must-have thing in your wardrobe! It is warm enough not to freeze but also not too thick what is definitely a good thing when you are travelling. In best case it is also rain repelling, this is what it primary was made for, the Mackintosh.

Furthermore it is such an universally item. You can wear it with any kind of sneakers but also with heels if you prefer. Even though I personally prefer the sneakers version for airports and travelling. In addition you only need a cashmere sweater in a neutral colour like Nude, Brown, White or Black. Just add a simple jeans or some trackpants. They are the big thing at the moment! Precisely because they are so comfortable and stylish at the same time! After the flight you can easily change the sneakers and get out your black heels. So you are perfectly perpared for anything what is happening next!

Many of us also underestimate the effect of a small but fine silk scarf.. It can easily turn your look into something really cool. When I first saw the collection of Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior I promptly felt in love with the whole collection and this scarf. I had to buy it, no matter what!

Meanhwile I have a little collection of silk scarves at home in different colours for any occasion. So if you do not want to spend big money on luxury goods it is a good idea to invest in a little classic foulard. You can not go wrong with it and you will have it for years, it will withstand any seasons or trends.

Summarising the can’t live without things while travelling are: 

1. Trenchcoat
2. Cashmere sweater
3. Silk scarf or foulard
4. Trackpants or comfortable jeans
5. Sneakers
